Easter at Selfridges

The Selfridges Easter promotion required posters and display signage to provide customers with a seasons greeting from the store and a format that could be used and adapted to provide store holiday opening times, point of sale information and brochure content. This required a variety of different formats and sizes.
The Easter chick themed illustrations and logotype were produced using a blade and scraperboard. These were then reproduced in the dark room onto film and then progressed to visuals by laying them on blocks of flat colour.
Christian symbolism was introduced into the patterning on the eggs. The black and white medium used together with the traditional feel was not too dissimilar to that of stained glass windows.
